Forum on Gender-Based Violence will be rescheduled
The Forum on Gender-Based Violence, which was originally scheduled for today, will be rescheduled due to the university winter weather closing. More information about new time, day and location will follow as it becomes available.
Curt and Christie Brungardt, College of Education 2013 alumni fellows, will be presenting the forum, which is personal for the Hays couple.
On July 3, 2008, their daughter, Jana, was murdered by her ex-boyfriend in Lawrence where she was attending law school. Since her death, the couple has worked tirelessly at the state and national levels to reduce violence against women. They established Jana’s Campaign Inc. with the purpose of reducing domestic and dating violence.
In 2011, the state of Kansas recognized the Brungardts with the “State Champions” award for their work.
