Virtual Flute Choir and iPad Instructional Initiative at the Innovations in Teaching and Learning conference
At the upcoming Innovations in Teaching and Learning Conference, March 4-5 at the K-State Student Union, you will have many opportunities to interact and learn from your higher education colleagues.
For example, on March 5, you won’t want to miss the two mini-presentations “The Virtual Flute Choir: Using YouTube to connect with students and the world” and “College of Education iPad Instructional Initiative.”
At 10:45 a.m., Karen Large, assistant professor of music, and her students will describe the role of YouTube in K-State music classes. Also, Large will show how her project, The Virtual Flute Choir, was inspired by these K-State educational experiences and became a worldwide musical event.
At 11:45 a.m., Dennis Devenney, Rusty Earl, Mary Hammel and Matt Heinrich in the College of Education will share their experiences with using iPads for instruction. They’ll cover where they started, why, the successes, the things they've learned, and where they are, plan to go, and how they plan to get there. Discussion will cover the steps of implementation, administration, application selection and use, training sessions, ePUB / iBook use and creation, and promoting the digital change.
