Geologist and students present at international conference

Saugata Datta, assistant professor of geology, and students presented as an opening speaker at the International Conference on Biochemistry of Trace Elements in Florence, Italy, July 3-7. The presentation was titled "Hyrdrogeochemical and mineralogical evaluation of groundwater arsenic contamination in Murshidabad, West Bengal, India." The presentation was part of a symposium titled "Arsenic in environmental biogeochemical processes: Speciation, bioavailability, biotic interactions and management."
