Program changes for TerryLee WHETSTONe, Native American Heritage Day

The Native American Student Association presents TerryLee WHETSTONe at 2 p.m. today in the K-State Student Union's Little Theatre. WHETSTONe, Cherokee, is a flutist, artist and cultural speaker who has performed across the midwest.

His appearance is part of Native American Heritage Month. This is first of two events this week. The Native American Student Association will have its Native American Heritage Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday with:

  • Reubin IronHorse Kent, Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska, is a potter, beader and tribal historian
  • Sister Virginia Pearl, Citizen Potawatomi Nation, is tribal historian
  • Jon Boursaw, a retired lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Air Force and Lyman Boursaw of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation
  • Angela Tucker, Cherokee, is a basket maker
  • and many others
