Organ professor invited to deliver lectures, solo recital on historic master organist

David Pickering, assistant professor of music, was invited to return to his alma mater, the University of Kansas, for a solo recital on the university's Hellmuth Wolff organ at Bales Organ Recital Hall. He also lectured on the life and pedagogy of Arthur Poister, subject of his most recent book, "Arthur Poister — Master Teacher and Poet of the Organ."

Pickering also delivered a lecture on Poister at the recent Syracuse Legacies Organ Conference at Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York.

Faculty in the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance have received Grammy Awards and Nominations, and Emmy Awards; produced recordings on international and national CD labels and published books and journal articles with international and national publishing houses and professional organizations; and performed and presented research in every continent in the world (except Antarctica).
