Working with Minor Children on Campus workshop

Submitted by Cindy Bontrager

Kansas State University strives to provide a safe environment for the entire campus community, which at times includes minor children. As such, a Working with Minor Children on Campus workshop will be offered for university administrators who coordinate or run university programs involving youth. The focus of the workshop will be liability implications, risk management and reporting obligations under university policy and Kansas law. The workshop will provide practical recommendations to apply to your program.

University employees who have responsibility for camps, labs, experiential programs and other activities with minor children on campus or in off-campus university programs should attend the workshop. Two workshop sessions will be offered in an effort to accommodate as many participants as possible.

  • 8:30-10 a.m. Thursday, April 18, Big 12 Room, K-State Student Union.
  • 2:30-4 p.m. Friday, April 19, in Town Hall at the Leadership Studies Building.

Register online to attend one of the workshop sessions. You also may send a designee in your place. Please share this information with the appropriate individuals within your area who would benefit from receiving this information.

Questions regarding the training may be directed to Sarah Barrett, Clery Act federal compliance coordinator, at ksuclery@k-state.edu.
