Spring 2019 MANRRS Week

Submitted by College of Agriculture Diversity Programs Office

The K-State MANRRS chapter invites you to participate in its Spring 2019 MANRRS Week through March 22. The purpose of this week is to engage students, faculty members and MANRRS students through various on-campus events.

The following are MANRRS Week events:

  • Tuesday, March 19 — College for a Day with Jr. MANRRS — Junction City High School. The MANRRS chapter will host students from Junction City High School from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 19. During their time on campus, the students will have the opportunity to tour the beautiful K-State campus, as well as the many opportunities in the College of Agriculture.
  • Wednesday, March 20 — Panda Express Fundraiser and Merck Facilities Visit. Please support the MANRRS Panda Express Fundraiser, which will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 20 in the K-State Student Union. The K-State MANRRS chapter also will have a delegation of students visit the Merck Animal Health Facility in De Soto.
  • Thursday, March 21 — F.I.T. Closet Clothing and Essentials Donation Drive; and professional development event. The F.I.T. Closet and Clothing Exchange is USD 383's means of providing many of the necessary essentials — e.g., school supplies, shoes, clothing, coats, toiletries, hygiene products, laundry detergent as well as emergency food — so children can attend class and integrate successfully. Last year, USD 383 served more than 300 homeless children by the end of the school year. Donation Table will be located in the K-State Student Union from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. We also will be accepting items in 139 Waters Hall through March 22. Please donate new or gently used items: socks, underwear, K-State gear, toiletry items and school supplies. At 6 p.m. Mary Ellen Barkley will lead the professional development event in 106 Waters Hall. The purpose of this event is to provide resume and behavioral interview tips to students. Everyone is welcome to attend.
  • Friday, March 22 — Bowling with MANRRS from 6:30-8 p.m. in the Union bowling alley. Everyone is invited to attend.

See the event flier for more information regarding event dates, times and locations.
