Kansas Association of Historians Conference early registration ends today

The K-State history department and its sponsors will host the 2019 Kansas Association of Historians annual conference highlighting all types of historians and all time periods of history. The conference will take place March 29-30 at the K-State Alumni Center, with a few sessions at Calvin Hall. 

Some panel topics include: Latino stories of Kansas; three queens and 16th-century politics and religion; Vietnam War era; health and medicine; ancient history; World Wars I and II; environmental history; race and gender history; violence as a historical theme; and Civil War history; and more.

Registration cost is $45, or $55 after March 8 for the general public and $35, or $45 after March 8 for students. You can register and pay online. Click on "2019 KAH Conference" and put in your information, then click "Add to Basket" to put in your credit/debit card information.

The department will host tours of Pete Souza's exhibition, "Pete Souza: Two Presidents, One Photographer," in the afternoon on March 29 at the Beach Museum of Art; walking tours of K-State's campus, weather permitting; a banquet dinner at the Flint Hills Discovery Center on March 29; a March 30 luncheon at the Konza Prairie Biological Station and an optional van tour of the prairie after the luncheon.
