Submitted by Tresa Landis

Applications are now being accepted for American Association of University Women Manhattan Branch Scholarships for nontraditional undergraduate or graduate women attending Kansas State University during the 2019-2020 academic year.

The scholarships are administered through the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation. Up to three incentive scholarships of $1,000 each, in addition to one $1,500 award are available.

Candidates must be considered full-time according to K-State standards and have at least two complete semesters of credit remaining before graduation to qualify. Students taking courses solely through distance education are not eligible. Candidates must be returning to school after at least a three-year lapse in education, which may be continuous or not. Applicants may already have returned to college after the time lapse.

The completed application, transcripts, and three letters of reference must be postmarked or emailed by Monday, March 25.

Applications are available through the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation website and American Association of University Women Manhattan Branch website and K-State Student Services website

The Manhattan Branch of the American Association of University Women was organized in 1920 and is one of the 1,000 branches nationwide. Today, the association has more than 170,000 members and is a premier organization for providing educational funding for women and girls.

When the Manhattan Branch was formed, it made a financial commitment to develop scholarship funds for women at Kansas State University. Visit the Manhattan Branch website or email manhattanksaauw@gmail.com to learn more about national fellowships and grants, branch monthly meetings and programs, and membership benefits. Membership is open to anyone holding an associate, equivalent, or higher degree. E-student affiliation for all full-time K-State undergraduate students is free.
