Retirement reception for Brenda Schaffer
Brenda Schaffer, a grant specialist with the Center for Hazardous Substance Research, will be honored with a retirement reception from 3-5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, in the Carl and Mary Ice reception center at the engineering complex on campus. A short program will begin at 4 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
Schaffer will retire after 31 years of service to Kansas State University. She began her time in the Division of Financial Services as an accountant in charge of the cashier's subsection, witnessing many changes over the years from setting up 20-plus cashiers to collect student fee payment in Ahearn Field House, to fee payment by mail and now online fee payment. For the past 18 years she has worked part-time for the Center for Hazardous Substance Research in the College of Engineering.
