University registrar announces retirement

Monty Nielsen, Kansas State University registrar, has announced his retirement effective June 30.
Nielsen has served as the university's registrar for 16 years. During his time as university registrar, Nielsen successfully led the transition to a fully electronic course catalog, instituted nationally recognized transcript services, implemented a consistent academic calendar and initiated the university's online curriculum management system. His expertise was also integral in the universitywide implementation of the integrated student information systems, known as KSIS.
"Monty has always focused on providing the best possible service to our current and past students. Under his direction and guidance, Kansas State University offers a transcript service that is copied by colleges and universities across the country," said Larry Moeder, associate vice president for student life and executive director of admissions and student financial assistance. "His campus colleagues have benefited from his sound advice and counsel throughout his career."
