National search starts for director of parking and transportation

A search committee appointed by Vice President for Administration and Finance Cindy Bontrager has begun the national search for the director of parking and transportation.

"It is important that we find the best candidate possible to fill the director of parking services position," Bontrager said. "We are looking for someone to help us manage our shuttle system on campus in addition to managing parking services. I appreciate the members of the search committee for assisting us on this search."

The following are members of the search committee:

  • Mo Hosni, professor of mechanical and nuclear engineering, Frankenhoff Chair in Engineering and director of University Engineering Alliance, chair. 
  • Derek Jackson, assistant vice president of student life and director of Housing and Dining Services. 
  • Ryan Swanson, associate vice president of facilities.
  • Ronnie Grice, assistant vice president for public safety and chief of police.
  • Debra Wilcox, assistant to the assistant dean, College of Education.
  • Suzy Auten, director of the online professional Master of Business Administration.
  • Aimee Hawkes, accountant II, Kansas Forest Service.
  • Jack Jennings, student, Student Governing Association communications director. 
  • Sarah Barrett, Clery Act federal compliance coordinator.

Lindsey Fouquette, executive recruitment manager for Human Capital Services, is serving as the executive recruiter.

Parking Services plays a vital role on the K-State campus, and the unit strives to provide reliable and informative customer service in a timely manner. The unit's goal is to give students, faculty, staff and visitors a positive experience. Parking Services has approximately 11,250 campus parking spaces on the Manhattan campus. The parking garage opened in 2010. It has almost 1,400 stalls and a mix of student, preferred, reserved and metered spaces. K-State proudly partners with the Flint Hills Area Transportation Agency to provide free public transportation on the Manhattan campus. The search committee will accept applications until Nov. 30.
