Submitted by Melissa Winkel

An information meeting about a January 2019 faculty-led travel program, Intercultural/International Communication in France and Spain, will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, in 308 Nichols Hall.

Offered by the communication studies department in the College of Arts and Sciences, this two-week travel course is for undergraduates and graduate students in all majors interested in an academic and intercultural experience in a foreign culture. The will be directed by Professor Soumia Bardhan, and may be taken as COMM 480: Intercultural/International Communication, three credits, or COMM 799: Problems in Intercultural/International Communication, three credits, independent study.

This course meets major, minor and elective course requirements and K-State 8 Global Issues and Perspectives requirements. In-state tuition will apply and no prior language skills are necessary.

The travel dates are Jan. 6 — depart from U.S. — to Jan. 19, 2019 — return to U.S. Predeparture sessions will be hosted in November.

The application deadline is Oct. 1.

During the information meetings, we will go over the course content and requirements, and talk more about the field trips and site visits as well as financial aid and scholarships. Program alumni will be available to field questions.

For those unable to make the Sept. 21 meeting, another meeting will take place at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, in 308 Nichols Hall.
