The College of Arts and Sciences' A.Q. Miller School of Journalism and Mass Communications will host its annual Kedziepalooza from 5-6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, in the courtyard outside of Kedzie Hall. All students are welcome.

Kedziepalooza is the A.Q. Miller School's back-to-school kickoff event. It is free for all K-State students. Students can enjoy free food and T-shirts as supplies last. Sliders and sides will be provided by Lacy's Fresh Fare and Catering, a student-operated teaching lab in the College of Human Ecology. KSDB 91.9 will be broadcasting live during the event.

Kedziepalooza is an opportunity for students to meet members of all JMC student groups and learn more about journalism, strategic communications, sports broadcasting, photography, drones and more. The Collegian, The Royal Purple, Public Relations Student Society of America and more than a dozen other organizations will host booths where students can learn how to get involved. They also will have the opportunity to get to know other students and faculty. Media and communications partners such as K-StateHD.TV and the K-State agricultural communications and journalism department also will have booths at the event.

The A.Q. Miller School of Journalism and Mass Communications now offers zero-credit classes for participation in KKSU-TV shows and the KSDB 91.9 radio station. Students will gain experience with operating equipment, telling stories and working in a newsroom. The classes are recorded on students' transcripts, but there's no cost and no effect on GPA. All five of the student media groups are open to all students regardless of major, and students can start their first week on campus.
