Military affairs director publishes research article in major journal
Retired Lt. Col. Art DeGroat, K-State's executive director of military and veterans affairs, co-authored a scholarly paper on reward behavior in the Journal of Management Inquiry.
DeGroat performs collaborative research work with several nationally recognized organizational behavior and management scholars to examine how the military service organizations influence individual workplace behaviors.
He and his colleagues conducted recent, intensive interviews with acclaimed thought leader Steve Kerr, former chief learning officer for Goldman Sachs, under legendary CEO Jack Welch. "Kerr's Folly" became a foundational construct in understanding reward behavior and performance in organizations.
DeGroat recently completed his doctorate in educational leadership at Kansas State University examining adult development impacts of military service among Post-9/11 era military veterans.
