Chuck Rice, university distinguished professor of agronomy, co-chaired a session and presented at the International Symposium on Managing Soils for Food Security and Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation, July 23-26 in Vienna, Austria.

The presentations were an oral talk on "Land use change and soil management impacts on soil biological and physical properties involved in ecosystem carbon sequestration" and a poster on "Managing soils for climate change while providing food security."

In addition, Rice attended a session on July 27 in Vienna to discuss the Food and Agriculture Organization Global Soil Partnership highlighting the linkages between research and policy development in the soil agenda in order to meet the challenges of improving food security in the context of climate change.
