Breast cancer and lymphoma survivor research opportunity

Submitted by Garrett Lovoy

Individuals who have been treated with chemotherapy for breast cancer and lymphoma are needed for a study at K-State's Clinical Integrative Physiology Lab.

Researchers in the kinesiology department are examining the effects of beetroot juice on cardiovascular health in breast cancer and lymphoma survivors. Noninvasive, resting images of the individual's heart will be taken following a week beetroot juice supplementation.

To be eligible for participation, subjects must be at least one-year post cancer treatment, free of kidney disease and not pregnant. Subjects will be compensated for their time in the study.

Contact Garrett Lovoy, graduate student in kinesiology, for more information at 954-599-5110 or garrett13@k-state.edu

This study has been reviewed by the Institutional Review Board and received approval No. 9264.
