Konza United Way dollars assist individuals with preparation of basic income tax returns

Submitted by K-State United Way Campaign Committee

The Konza United Way serves the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance, or VITA, program, which offers free tax help to people who generally make $54,000 or less, persons with disabilities and limited English speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns.

IRS-certified volunteers provide free basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing to qualified individuals. Clients who have used the VITA program shared the following testimonies:

• "I'm a single mom of three kids. I'm in the poverty level and just trying to stay above water. This service has been a blessing. I feel confident that I am getting quality service here and very much appreciate it!"

• "This service helps me so much because this is not a skill set I have. I am relieved to know I am in such trustworthy and knowledgeable hands."

Help make more stories like this possible by donating to the K-State United Way campaign through HRIS.
