Phi Kappa Phi initiates new faculty members, presents Scholar Award

Kansas State University's chapter of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest, largest and most selective all-discipline honor society, has initiated four new faculty members and honored a current Phi Kappa Phi faculty member with an award.

New faculty initiates of Phi Kappa Phi are: Anthony Crawford, associate professor, K-State Libraries; Sue Maes, dean of the Division of Continuing Education; BeEtta Stoney, associate professor of curriculum and instruction and faculty athletics representative; and Valerie Wright, who recently retired after serving as the environmental educator and a naturalist at the Konza Prairie Biological Station.

The Phi Kappa Phi chapter also presented its Scholar Award to member Laurie Johnson, professor of political science. The award is based on the quality of accomplishment's in the nominee's field; achievements of regional and/or international scope, including publications, research, invited lectures, etc.; and honors and other forms of recognition for excellence in scholarly work.
