Professional development funding time

Submitted by Linda Henriksen

The President's Commission on the Status of Women's professional development fund committee is now taking applications for financial assistance to attend seminars, workshops and conferences.

Payment for up to 50 percent of expenses — $500 maximum per academic year — may be awarded based on the number of requests received and the ability of the employee's department or unit to provide partial funding.

Eligibility: Full-time K-State university support staff or unclassified nonfaculty professional who has been employed by the university in a full-time position for at least one full academic year. This grant is not restricted to women. Persons of all genders are encouraged to apply.

The deadline for applications is 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 15. Application information is available on the President's Commission on the Status of Women website. All applications must be submitted electronically.
