Natural resources and environmental sciences secondary major students to present capstone research projects

Students in the natural resources and environmental sciences secondary major capstone course will discuss the findings from their semesterlong interdisciplinary research projects from 9:40-11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, in 231 Ackert Hall.

Fall 2016 student researchers come from seven different majors within the colleges of Agriculture, Arts and Sciences and Engineering.

Two projects will be presented in seminar and scientific poster formats, including "Surface Water Quality Analysis at the Urban-Rural Fringe using Citizen Science Methods" and "Evaluation of the Performance of the Memorial Stadium Green Infrastructure."

Student work has been supervised by faculty advisors Trisha Moore, biological and agricultural engineering, and Shawn Hutchinson, geography.

The presentations are open to the general public. Undergraduate students interested in natural resources, environmental science and sustainability issues are especially encouraged to attend. The secondary major is open to all K-State students and is supported by the Office of the Provost, College of Agriculture, College of Arts and Sciences and biological and agricultural engineering department.
