Kale graduate fellows present research at Geography Colloquium Dec. 2

Emily Mellicant, graduate student in geography, and Bohua Ling, doctoral candidate in geography, will give their research presentations as Steven Kale graduate fellows at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, in the Little Theatre of the K-State Student Union.  

Mellicant will present "Geochemical signatures of transport processes and lake sediments in northern Minnesota." 

Ling will present "Spatial thinking of pyric herbivory and canopy nutrients: Remote sensing analysis in a tallgrass prairie."   

Mellicant and Ling are inaugural recipients of the geography department's Steven Kale Graduate Research Scholarships. Mellicant's major professor is Kendra McLauchlan and Ling's major professor is Douglas Goodin.  

The presentations are sponsored by the Beta Psi chapter of Gamma Theta Upsilon, the international geographic honor society, and the geography department.
