K-State women invited to Wednesday Brown Bag lunch: Beyond Fat Talk: Women and Body Image

Submitted by Julia Wallis

Don't forget to mark your calendars for our next brown bag event this week!

The Women of K-State will be presenting a brown bag event from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday in the Big 12 Room of the K-State Student Union for National Nutrition Month. Body image in our culture typically has been viewed as a concern for young adults or the 20-something crowd. However, body image despair impacts women at every stage of the life cycle, young and old.

Dianna Schalles, registered dietitian at K-State’s Lafene Health Center, will discuss ways that women can support ourselves and others in counteracting the cultural ideal. She will also introduce alternatives to fad dieting to achieve improved health and fitness.

Please RSVP to Julia Wallis at wallisj@ksu.edu if you plan on attending.

A live stream of the event is also available online.
