Burrack presents at state and national conferences

Frederick Burrack, director of the office of assessment and associate professor of music education, presented several conference sessions and clinics in recent weeks.

On Feb. 15, he led a professional development for the Kansas City school's music teachers on assessing student learning. At the 12th annual Texas A&M Assessment Conference, Feb. 20-21 in College Station, Texas, he presented sessions titled "Tagging Student Learning Data to be Useful for University Assessment Goals" and "A Culture of Assessment: What Is It and How Do We Achieve It?" Both described the assessment efforts of Kansas State University. Later that week, on Feb. 24, he presented three session at the Kansas Music Educators Conference in Wichita. The sessions were titled "Inspire your students: Using visual art to enhance music learning and performance quality," "Were to go from here" with Andrew Feyes, doctoral student in music, and "Connecting your music program with the community" with colleague Phillip Payne, assistant professor of music. On Monday, Feb. 27, he presented on the values of music education to the Salina Rotary Club.
