Jim Stack, professor of plant pathology and director of the Great Plains Diagnostic Network, will give a public lecture at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, in the K-State Student Union's Little Theater.

Stack will discuss some of the challenges of feeding an expanding population in the face of growing concerns about plant health and agricultural pathogens. His talk is being presented for students participating in the capstone course of the natural resources and environmental science, or NRES, secondary major and is open to the general public as part of the NRES Seminar Series. Undergraduate students interested in natural resources, environmental science and sustainability issues are especially encouraged to attend.

The natural resources and environmental science secondary major and its seminar series are supported by the Office of the Provost, College of Agriculture, College of Arts & Sciences and the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering.
