Submitted by Rosanna Vail

Kansas State University will host the Michael Tilford Conference on Diversity and Multiculturalism Oct. 24-25 at the K-State Alumni Center and Student Union. This year’s theme is “Pathways to a Diverse and Inclusive Campus Climate.”

The conference provides an opportunity for faculty, staff and administrators at Kansas regents institutions to discuss diversity in higher education. Featured speakers will include: JoAnn Moody, higher education faculty development and diversity consultant; Roger Worthington, professor in the College of Education at the University of Missouri and recently appointed to the Missouri Commission on Human Rights; and Juan Sanchez Munoz, vice president for institutional diversity, equity and community engagement at Texas Tech University.

Breakout sessions will address multicultural curriculum and pedagogy, administration, student life, and recruitment and retention of faculty and staff.

There is no registration fee to attend the conference, but preregistration is required. Due to space limitations, registration is limited to faculty, administrators and staff at Kansas regents institutions, including community colleges. Registration closes at 5 p.m. Oct. 17.
