Register for Celebration of Women in Bioscience

Submitted by Sarah Hancock

BioKansas and Husch Blackwell are sponsoring A Celebration of Women in Bioscience from 3-7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, in Truman Auditorium at the Kansas City Public Library, Plaza Branch.

Julia Stephanus, chief commercial officer of Aratana Therapeutics, will discuss her experiences starting a company, growing it, and transitioning it after a successful sale. A panel discussion with Stephanus and other high-profile life science entrepreneurs will follow, along with a networking reception at Husch Blackwell.

Aspiring entrepreneurs or anyone working in life sciences is welcome at the event. K-State is a member of BioKansas, so participants from K-State can register for the member rate of $10. Proceeds will benefit the K-State Girls Researching Our World, or GROW, program and Science Pioneers.

Richard Potter, director of the K-State Office of Corporate Engagement, is a member of the BioKansas board of directors. BioKansas collaborates with leaders across the state to enhance the business and research climate across human, plant, animal and industrial biosciences.
