North Campus Corridor Open Studios in February

Submitted by Ruth Dyer

On Monday, Feb. 16, and Tuesday, Feb. 17, representatives from Perkins+Will and other members of our North Campus Corridor planning team will facilitate an Open Studio.

Both days will offer opportunities to gather input and provide feedback on alternative approaches for the development of the North Campus Corridor. The Open Studio is the core of a four-day on-campus design charrette, and the consultants will be on hand to discuss the planning process, review ideas as they are being generated and answer questions.

The consultants also will be meeting with the North Campus Corridor Task Force and various stakeholder groups to gather additional ideas for the design process. The goal of the North Campus Corridor Master Plan is to define and strengthen the district's sense of purpose and sense of place that stems from the physical environment offered by Kansas State University. Design concepts will integrate academic and research facilities, infrastructure and open space to create a sustainable living, learning and knowledge-creation community for K-State.

The schedules for the two Open Studios are:

  • 3-5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 16, in the Purple Pride Room in the K-State Alumni Center
  • 3-5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, in the K-State Alumni Center Ballroom C

Please drop by during these times to engage in the design process, view the various alternative concepts in development, visit with our consultants to ask questions, and provide your ideas and feedback. We look forward to seeing you at one of the Open Studios.
