Former New York Times editors to discuss 'Page One' today

Submitted by Steve Wolgast

Can traditional news media survive in the digital age? "Page One: Inside The New York Times" follows editors and reporters of one of the nation's most storied newsrooms to answer the question. A special screening of the documentary will be held at 3 p.m. today in Room 212 of the K-State Student Union.

After the free screening, three veteran journalists will discuss The Times and the future of the news media.

Kim Baltrip was a metro desk copy editor at The Times for three years and is now an assistant professor of journalism and digital media at K-State.

Steve Wolgast worked on The Times' business desk as a design editor for nine years before becoming director of Student Publications and joining the A.Q. Miller School of Journalism and Mass Communications' faculty

Ned Seaton is the general manager of The Manhattan Mercury, whose paywall is being adopted across the media landscape.

The event is sponsored by the A. Q. Miller School of Journalism and Mass Communications and Student Publications Inc.
