Wireless k-state.net network to be disabled today
The k-state.net wireless network will be permanently removed at 5 p.m. today. If any K-Stater has not yet configured their laptop, smartphone or other wireless devices to use one of the new, more secure "KSU Wireless" or "KSU Housing" networks, they need to do so immediately. Those who have not switched by 5 p.m. today will lose wireless access.
Last week, more than 17,000 devices used the new wireless networks, successfully making the transition. However, nearly 5,800 devices still used "k-state.net," indicating they still need to convert.
Information Technology Services is hosting walk-up clinics from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today and Wednesday just outside the food court in the K-State Student Union to help students and faculty/staff connect wireless devices to the new networks.
To set up wireless on your own, go to wireless.k-state.edu/connect on your devices and follow the instructions. For assistance outside the clinics, contact your IT support person or stop by the IT Help Desk in 214 Hale Library.
