University communications being streamlined to better utilize resources, improve service

Submitted by Communications and Marketing

To meet the goals of K-State 2025, the university continues to improve and streamline its communications processes. The next phase of this effort is greater collaboration and sharing of resources among college communicators, K-State Research and Extension and the Division of Communications and Marketing.

This summer, communications staff from the College of Engineering and news media staff from the Department of Communications and Agricultural Education will move to Dole Hall, which houses the Division of Communications and Marketing. Reporting structures will remain unchanged.

"Communicators at K-State already work together well in so many ways, it makes sense for these interactions to become even more accessible by co-locating our professionals," said Jeff Morris, vice president for communications and marketing. "We are excited about the additional creative opportunities ahead, and most importantly, enhanced service to faculty, staff and others on all campuses.”

As the university ramps up its Global Food Systems initiative, some existing staff from the Division of Communications and Marketing and the Department of Communications and Agricultural Education also will move to the K-State Innovation Center in the research park this week. In collaboration with KSUIC, these professionals will focus on communications and marketing support necessary to move the initiative forward.

Phone numbers for all individuals will remain the same.
