Deadline to file Kansas 2014 Statements of Substantial Interest is April 30

Submitted by Susana L. Valdovinos

Dear Faculty and Staff,

The Governmental Ethics Commission has mailed notices to the home addresses of all employees who must file a 2014 Statement of Substantial Interest, or SSI, with the Kansas secretary of state's Governmental Ethics Commission. The deadline to file is April 30.

The statement is required by Kansas statute and is filed directly with the governmental ethics commission upon appointment and annually in April. It may be conveniently accessed and completed online.

Please remember that the Statement of Substantial Interest is different from the Kansas State University Conflict of Interest and Conflict of Time Commitment form that is filed online internally later in the spring. Both reports are due every year and both reports are required.

You will need to file the required Kansas State University Conflict of Interest and Conflict of Time Commitment form with the university when you receive your contract for next year.

Any questions about the Statement of Substantial Interest should be addressed to Roxie Valdivia of the Governmental Ethics Commission by emailing auditor1@ethics.ks.gov or calling 785-296-4219.

Thank you,
Susana Valdovinos
