Qualtrics workshops offered in spring 2014

A series of workshops will be offered during April on Qualtrics, Kansas State University's survey system. All workshops will be from 10:30 a.m. to noon in Room 301 at Hale Library. Register here to attend.

The workshops are as follows: 

• April 4: An Introduction to Creating a Survey on Qualtrics. This workshop will be an introduction to Qualtrics and give a basic overview of the tools available to get started. Attendees can learn about the dashboard, how to create a survey, question types, editing a survey, distributing a survey and reporting the results. Presented by Leo Lo, research and development librarian and assistant professor at Hale Library, and Holger Len, resident instructional designer at Hale Library.

• April 11: Embedded Data in Your Survey: Taking Your Surveys to the Next Level. This workshop will build on the first workshop. Presenters will talk about embedded data. Attendees will learn what embedded data means, how to create embedded data in their survey, purpose of embedded data and benefits to incorporating it in to a survey. Presented by Swasati Mukherjee, instructional designer at the Information Technology Assistance Center, and Lenz.

• April 18: Oh My! Survey Created, Now What? This workshop will be on distributing a survey and the reporting tool. Attendees will learn there are several ways to distribute their survey and the scope for each method, reporting results of their survey, adding data sources and filters to their data, creating creative reports by adding images, text, tables, graphs and sharing their reports by exporting or online. Presented by Christopher Urban, assistant director in the office of assessment, and Lenz.

These workshops can also be taken through HRIS. Look for the following courses:

  • WIT410, Introduction to Qualtrics (An Introduction to Creating a Survey on Qualtrics)
  • WIT 420, Advanced Qualtrics: Embedded Data (Embedded Data in Your Survey: Taking Your Surveys to the Next Level )
  • WIT421, Advanced Qualtrics: Distribution & Reporting (Oh My! Survey Created, Now What? )

To register for a session, follow the HRIS registration process:

  • Sign in to HRIS at www.as.ksu.edu/HRIS.
  • Click Employee Self Service.
  • Click Learning and Development.
  • Click KSU Training Enrollment.
  • Click Search by Course Name.
  • Type Qualtrics in the Course Name field.
  • Click Search. This will bring up a list of possible courses.
  • Click View Available Sessions beside the desired course.
  • Click the Session number for the desired session.
  • Verify the information about the sessions, then click Continue.
  • Enter any comments. Note: These comments will be sent to you, your supervisor, your department personnel specialist and Employee Relations and Training.
  • Click Submit.
  • Click OK to close the confirmation screen.
  • Sign out from HRIS.

To verify your registration at any time:

  • Sign in to HRIS at www.as.ksu.edu/HRIS.
  • Click Employee Self Service.
  • Click Training and Development.
  • Click Training Summary. Note: This will display enrolled sessions as well as completed sessions.
