Save the date: Lecture about the the newest research in brain-based learning

Submitted by Cathie Lavis

Make plans now to attend the concluding presentation of the "Year of the Brain" from 2-4 p.m. Friday, April 11, in the Hale Library Hemisphere Room.

Jane Fishback, associate professor in the Division of Continuing Education, recently attended an international neuroscience conference where leading scientists presented the latest research. Fishback will be presenting some of the key points and ideas from this conference. This session will be highly interactive with an opportunity to discuss how this information can be put to use in your classroom.

Additionally, Fishback will suggest some avenues to stay current with the burgeoning field of mind-brain-education and how to determine what is valid versus what is myth.

Our hope is that the Year of the Brain will continue to engage and connect faculty while improving student learning. It is sponsored by The Teaching and Learning Center and the Faculty Exchange for Teaching Excellence.
