Volunteer opportunities still available for Community Service Week

Submitted by Karin Westman

Community Service Week

There's still time to volunteer for Community Service Week, which runs Oct. 15-22.

Organized by HandsOn K-State, this year's Community Service Week takes its focus from the 2011 KSBN book selection, Dave Eggers's "Zeitoun."

HandsOn K-State has organized 10 events connected to disaster response. Register now to attend one or more and learn best practices for helping communities respond to disaster. Topics include "Faith and Service," "Pet Recovery and Assistance" and "Disaster Simulation."

Visit the "Upcoming Events" page at HandsOn K-State to view details about all of the events and to register.

For more information about this year's Community Service Week, see last month's news release.
