International programs' study abroad office has new international health insurance provider

Submitted by Mary K. Pyle

The office of international program's study abroad office recently changed international health insurance providers.

"We are excited to be partnering with Frontier MEDEX," said Karli Webster, director of study. "We felt that they offered a more comprehensive insurance package to students, faculty and staff traveling abroad for K-State-related travel."

The office of international programs recommends that K-State faculty or staff traveling abroad on university business obtain international health insurance, because many health insurance plans, including most of those offered by the state of Kansas, do not cover important costs that can be incurred while traveling abroad. Unanticipated costs could include emergency medical evacuation, repatriation of remains, a family assistance benefit, a bereavement reunion benefit, a security evacuation benefit or worldwide travel assistance.
