TLC Bi-Weekly Newsletter for Tuesday, December 13th, 2022

Greetings, K-Staters!

Congratulations on wrapping up your classes for Fall 2022 semester! The Teaching & Learning Center (TLC) would like to remind you of our commitment to support your efforts in teaching, mentoring, and advising. We are excited about our various priorities, events, and resources that are designed to advance teaching and learning at K-State. This video explains what the TLC can do for you.

TEVAL Reminder

As a reminder, the deadline to create an online TEVAL is December 18, but we recommend you do so now. The last day TEVALs will be offered to students is December 20. Once grades have been released, primary instructors can retrieve their TEVAL reports from Canvas.

We also recommend that you and your students view the following video explaining the importance of TEVALs and how students can provide useful feedback for faculty. We also have another video resource to help you set up your TEVALs on Canvas.

If you have additional questions, please contact the TLC at 785-532-7828 or teachingandlearning@k-state.edu.

Book Orders 2023

Please make sure that you place your spring 2023 book orders to the campus bookstore as soon as possible either using this online adoption form, or e-mailing textbooks@k-state.edu. Even if you are not using materials, or using open alternative textbooks, please let the bookstore know so it can be recorded in KSIS for our students in compliance with federal policy.

Programs & Events

Our Professional Development (PD) Series for the Fall 2022 semester has concluded. If you are interested in earning a TLC PD Certificate and/or in becoming a TLC Fellow, please consult the guidelines (e.g., completing post-event surveys for each event) posted on our website.

We will resume the PD Series next semester. These events will, again, occur on Wednesdays at 12 noon via Zoom. All events are free, and no registration is required. Our schedule will be updated on the Upcoming Events page of our website as we finalize these events. Prior to each event, we will post reminders on our social media: Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. We hope to see you again next semester.

Engage the Sage Videos to Support Excellent Teaching

We would like to remind you of several video resources as part of Dr. Don Saucier’s YouTube channel, Engage the Sage, that are particularly relevant at the end of the semester:

Thank You & Encouragement

As a K-State community, we continue to offer grace and compassion to one another during these challenging times. We are grateful for your continued support of your students and colleagues and hope you take advantage of the resources available to you at K-State, including us, throughout the upcoming semester. Thank you for all you do for your colleagues and our students. And thank you for advancing K-State’s teaching and learning mission with energy and optimism.

Sincerely,

The Teaching and Learning Center Team
