AMI Hires Analyst to Support Economic Development Project

(Manhattan, Kan. September 23, 2008) – Manveen Saini has accepted the position of economic analyst at Kansas State University's Advanced Manufacturing Institute.

Saini will be responsible for researching, analyzing and preparing data on economic conditions and trends in the state of Kansas and other areas of the nation. In this role, Saini will be assisting the institute with its efforts to promote technology-based economic development in Kansas.

"We are delighted to have Manveen on our team," said Jeff Tucker, associate director of the Advanced Manufacturing Institute. "Currently, we are working on a project with the North Central Regional Planning Commission to identify key regional industries and develop innovative networks for the 19 counties in that region. Manveen's vast research experience will be extremely beneficial to this project and will help us expand our services to support economic development within Kansas."

Saini has a bachelor's degree in business administration from Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, a master's degree in business management from Punjab College of Technical Education, and a doctorate in business administration from Punjab Agricultural University. Prior to joining the Advanced Manufacturing Institute, Saini gained experience as a researcher in the fields of social networking, industry cluster analysis and economic development at Punjab Agricultural University while earning her doctoral degree.
