Advanced Manufacturing Institute Will Attend EntrepreneurshipWeek USA Event

(Manhattan, Kan. February 19, 2007) – The Advanced Manufacturing Institute will be participating in EntrepreneurshipWeek USA on March 1, 2007 sponsored by Kansas State University’s College of Business Administration.

Several public events will be Thursday, March 1, at K-State and are part of a national campaign to educate participants about starting and running technology-based firms.

Events for the day include the Entrepreneur's Product Fair, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., in the K-State Student Union courtyard. The fair will display products created by Kansas entrepreneurs.

During the fair, exhibitors will be on hand to discuss the process of securing intellectual property, product development and new product marketing.

A panel discussion with industry experts from all areas of the technology commercialization process will be 1-2:30 p.m. in the Union's Little Theatre. A question-and-answer session will be part of the event. Duane Nellis, K-State provost, will provide the opening remarks.

With the theme, "What's Your Big Idea? Take it On!," the "EntrepreneurshipWeek USA" initiative is designed to serve as an inspiration for young people to think creatively and to turn their ideas into action, such as starting a new business, developing an innovation for an existing company, or solving a problem that makes society better. Official events are being planned in cities across the country, including in Washington D.C., where the focus will be on the importance of policy to the nation's entrepreneurs.
