We have designed the planning process to ensure that anyone who may want a voice in building the Next-Generation K-State has an opportunity to contribute. We are providing opportunities across our university and our state to gather input, suggestions, and comments. These opportunities will include surveys, listening sessions, town halls, college and major unit visits, focus groups, a dedicated email address, and more.

If you have specific feedback that you would like to provide at any time, you are welcome to send an email to nextgen@k-state.edu or complete the online form. All responses will go to our planning team and serve as important input into how we move forward with setting our future vision, programmatic priorities and goals.

Yes. We are distributing surveys, administering focus groups, holding additional listening sessions and much more throughout the fall and spring semesters. This is designed to be an "open-door process" — if you have thoughts, ideas or input you want to share, we want to hear it. Simply email us at nextgen@k-state.edu or complete the short online form. All responses will be reviewed in real-time by our planning team and incorporated into our work.

No. President Linton has come to K-State with an exciting vision and energy for where we can go as a Next-Generation Land-Grant University, but he has also come with a determination to engage the broad K-State community in all we do.

We want to hear all ideas and perspectives, put them on the table and determine those that are most ideal for our institution — using our advisory committee and task forces as sounding boards for those discussions — and then structure a plan that is visionary, meaningful and responsive to what we expect will be thousands of different points of input or engagement during this process.

No. Once this plan is complete, we will immediately move into implementing it, both at a university level and with our colleges, units and departments developing their own strategic plans that align with our priorities and goals as an institution. K-State has a strong culture and track record of developing plans that are meaningful and then acting on them — one simply has to look to our current K-State 2025 strategic plan, our Strategic Enrollment Plan, or other plans and initiatives that we have developed and put into practice to drive real, actionable results.

No. The new strategic plan will cover fall 2023 to fall 2030 while recognizing that some programmatic priorities may take us beyond 2030 to fully realize. Those priorities can be included with significant milestones identified as part of the plan taking us to 2030.

Yes. During fall 2023, colleges and major units will be asked to review and align their strategic plans with the university plan. The template and procedures for doing this have not yet been determined but will be developed during summer 2023.
