Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Collaborative Research on Sorghum and Millet

Resources and reports

Scientists in the Sorghum and Millet Innovation Lab are helping farmers and residents in the African nations of Ethiopia, Senegal and Niger through agriculture-focused research and outreach.

Collaborators are using a combination of genetic research, technologies and multidisciplinary approaches to improve sorghum and millet crops grown in the three target countries and develop new crop varieties that are more resilient to the sub-Saharan environment, drought and climate change.

Training and education of African scientists and farmers also is helping each nation increase production of these important food crops and spark economic growth in their agricultural economies.
