Midwest Student Exchange Program Renewal

The Midwest Student Exchange Program (MSEP) allows out-of-state students to pay 150% of the tuition rate that an in-state student would pay. This is a waiver against the out-of-state tuition charges to the bill. Global Campus courses are not covered under the MSEP. 

  • Cumulative K-State GPA required for renewal – 3.00
  • Cumulative K-State GPA reviewed after fall and spring semesters
  • Renewal amount – the amount of the MSEP will vary depending on how many credit hours the student is enrolled
  • Renewable for up to four years (eight semesters) total for freshmen*, three years (six semesters) total for transfer students
  • For students who entered K-State in fall 2018 or earlier: Program of study is reviewed after fall and spring semesters to confirm continued enrollment in an eligible curriculum
    • Eligible Bachelor's programs include:

      • Agricultural Technology Management
      • Agricultural Education
      • Agronomy
      • Animal Science & Industry
      • Architectural Engineering
      • Bakery Science

      • Milling Science
      • Nutrition & Kinesiology
      • Park Management & Conservation
    • Eligible Master's programs include:
      • Architecture
      • Interior Architecture & Product Design

Midwest Student Exchange Enhancement Scholarship

  • Cumulative K-State GPA required for renewal – 3.50
  • Renewal amount - $2,500 ($1,250/semester)
  • Renewable for up to four years (eight semesters) total for freshmen*, three years (six semesters) total for transfer students
  • Once bachelor’s degree is received, the scholarship is no longer available

*If you are enrolled in a five-year program within the College of Architecture, Planning & Design, you may able to renew your academic merit award for up to four additional years (five years, ten semesters total).
