Diploma Delivery

The Office of the Registrar mails, upon completion of degree requirements, one complimentary diploma.

All financial/academic holds must be cleared before a diploma can be mailed. Check your KSIS Student Center for hold and departmental contact information. (How-to)

Students have 90 calendar days after the end of the semester of graduation to clear holds without delaying the mailing of a diploma. If holds are cleared after such time, students will need to notify the Office of the Registrar to arrange the release and mailing of a diploma. Diplomas will be retained for two years after the graduation date and will then be destroyed. After that time, any request for a diploma by the student will incur all charges associated with ordering a duplicate or replacement diploma.

Diploma Content

  • Student's Name
    • Once a student has left the university, names can only be changed on a diploma with supporting legal documentation of a name change (i.e. a copy of a marriage license, a court order or divorce decree, a current passport, a driver’s license, or a Social Security card).  To submit a request for change the Student Data Information Change Form is required.
  • K-State Degree
  • K-State Major (varies by college)
  • Date of Graduation
  • Graduation Honors (Undergraduate Only - if earned)

NOTE:  SubPlans and Minors do not appear on the K-State diploma

Certificates, SubPlans, and Minors will appear on the K-State Transcript.

Diploma Size

The size of diplomas for all degrees is 8.5" x 11", except for the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine which is 17" x 14".

Diploma Authenticity

The diploma is an important symbol of academic achievement.  However, K-State does not recommend that the diploma be accepted in lieu of an official transcript or degree verification.  If you are presented with a K-State diploma as evidence of a degree, please ask the student for an Official Transcript and/or submit a Third-Party Degree Verification through the National Student Clearinghouse for verification of the document.
