Sabri Ciftci is an assistant professor in the Department of Political Science at Kansas State University. He received his PhD in Political Science from Florida State University, in 2005.
His research focuses on Islam and democracy, religion and democratic attitudes as well as civic engagement in the Middle East and the Muslim World. Dr. Ciftci specializes in Middle Eastern and Turkish politics. His research appears or is forthcoming in Comparative Political Studies, Political Research Quarterly, International Journal of Middle East Studies, and European Union Politics. He is the principal investigator of Turkish Parliamentarians Survey (2003-2004) and Youth Attitudes about Turkish Foreign Policy: An Experimental Study (2010). He teaches courses in Middle East Politics, Political Islam, Comparative Politics, and Advanced Research Methods.
