The Brain and Language is an overview of how the brain processes and remembers language, particularly second language. We will also discuss factors that affect learning and also how communities may support learners.

Beyond Bier and Brats: Studying Abroad in Germany:

Dr. Sara Luly, Associate Professor of German and Director of Undergraduate Recruitment and Outreach 

This session introduces students to benefits, challenges and logistics of studying abroad in Germany. We will discuss common American misconceptions about German culture and touch on some cultural differences through engaging activities. This session can be done in English, German, or a combination of both.

Grimmer than the Rest: The Fairy Tales of the Brothers Grimm

Dr. Sara Luly, Associate Professor of German and Director of Undergraduate Recruitment and Outreach 

This interactive session will dispel myths about the brothers’ Grimm, expose audiences to their lesser-known fairy tales, and look at how the Grimms’ legacy continues to shape American culture today. This session can be done in English, German, or a combination of both.
