Lafene Health Center

Lafene Heading

Welcome to Kansas State University!

We are excited to have your student at K-State and want to let you know about some of the services offered at Lafene Health Center. As a parent, the last thing you want to think about is your child getting sick while they are away from home. We want you to know that we understand and we will do everything possible to help you and your student feel comfortable with the services that we can provide them while they are awayfrom home.

Lafene Health Center provides students with high quality health care, focusing on keeping your student healthy and promoting a healthy campus community. Care is provided by board certified physicians and nurse practitioners, as well as nursing professionals. Students receive the same high quality care you would expect from your healthcare providers at home. Students have access to coordinated and comprehensive services targeted at building and maintaining overall well-being. We believe good health is essential for academic success.

The following requirements, found under Medical Clearances on
our myLafene+ Patient Portal, must be completed prior to arriving on campus:
  • Complete the Tuberculosis Screening Questionnaire.
  • Submit proof of two (2) MMR vaccines or a lab report
    confirming immunity.
  • Submit proof of one (1) Meningococcal ACWY (MCV4)
vaccine at age 16 or older if living in student housing.
The waiver can be completed on the myLafene+ Patient
    Portal under Downloadable Forms.

These requirements are usually due prior to enrollment, but this year
because of COVID-19, due dates have been extended. Requirements
must be completed prior to arriving on campus.

The university strongly encourages all students who can receive the
COVID-19 vaccination to do so. If possible, get your vaccine before
arriving on campus, and be sure to upload your vaccine
information on the portal.

Students will also need to upload their current insurance card and
immunization records and complete the health history form on the
portal. The portal can be used to schedule appointments, request
prescription refills, send secure messages, and view lab results.
