Definitive hosts: this species infects a variety of mammals, especially ruminants
Site of infection: bile ducts and gall bladder
Typical size: 15-30 mm in length
Distribution: Worldwide
Intermediate host: several species of lymnaeid snails serve as suitable hosts, including Pseudosuccinea columella and Fossaria bulimoides in Kansas. One sporocyst and two redial generations occur.
Metacercariae: encystment on a variety of aquatic vegetation
