May 9, 2010 marked the third year that K-State and Manhattan women and men have participated in the international "Standing Women" observance on Mother's Day. All around the world people stand in silence for 5 minutes at 1:00 p.m. local time. We do this to honor mothers including mother earth; and to renew our intent to work to create a healthy world.  This year the UU drummers joined in as we gathered at the K-State Peace Pole on the UFM lawn across from K-State.
