Kids of K-State Webzine provides resources for parents, children and educators
Through the work of the School of Family Studies and Human Services, the College of Education and Research and Extension, Kansas State University is a wealth of information, programs, activities and advice about children and parenting. K-State experts can keep parents busy learning about kids' issues while keeping the kids engaged in exploring and learning for themselves. Much of this information, expert advice and programs and activities have been combined into one Web site, as a resource for parents, children, educators and the media. The Kids of K-State Webzine features professors in the School of Family Studies and Human Services, K-State Research and Extension, the English department's children's literature expert, the College of Education and many other sources. In it you will find ideas on picking out the right books for your child, conquering temper tantrums and dealing with bullies (whether the bully is your own child or another kid). You will find research on children's exposure to media violence, how children perceive little white lies and why dressing up in costume helps children better learn a story. You will find a wealth of Web sites to continue your exploration of K-State's resources as well as a list of the Top 10 things to do with your children at K-State.
