Veterinary teaching hospital provides important resource to area
The veterinary hospital at K-State is the largest in Kansas and one of the largest in the nation. Each year, 17,000 animals from around the area are treated in the 185,000-square-foot facility. The teaching hospital is located on the north end of K-State's campus and is available for appointments as well as for emergency care. Areas of specialty at the hospital include internal medicine, orthopedics, surgery, radiology, nuclear medicine, dermatology, dentistry, anesthesiology, exotic animal medicine, cardiology, equine medicine and surgery, production medicine, reproduction and ophthalmology. General practice veterinarians provide routine health care including check-ups, vaccinations, deworming and preventive medicine.
